Stashmatic Quick Start Guide

Stashmatic helps collectors and hobbyists organize, track, and share their collections. Our shared community database lets everyone in the collector community benefit from each other’s knowledge and collecting history. To get started:

Track Your Stuff

1. Sign up if you haven't already. It's quick and it's free.

2. Explore the database to see if anyone has already entered items in which you're interested. You may also search the database by entering text in the search box in the upper-right corner of this screen.

3. If you find an item that interests you in the database, you may view the item and add it to your stash or tag it. If your items have not yet been entered into the database, add them yourself! To add an item, you must first detemine its category—you may use one of the existing categories or create a new one if you need to.

Tags

Tags allow you to add a descriptive phrase to any item in the database and to find those items later by searching on your tags. If you are browsing a list of live concert performances, you might tag those you attended with "attended" or you might tag a novel with a specific character that appears in the book. You'll always be able to see your personal tags, and Stashmatic keeps a running total of popular tags on items, so you'll benefit from all Stashmatic users' informal classifications.

Groups

Groups are another great way to find items of interest and to compare what you have against a group checklist. If you collect Bruce Springsteen memorabilia, you should join the Springsteen Group! Group moderators and members keep track of which items in the database that group is particularly interested in … it’s a great way to access an entire list of Springsteen stuff regardless of category: books, posters, DVDs, and more. See a list of all groups here.
